1. Universal Service Terms (Applicable to All Services)<\/h4>\n

The Service Terms below govern your use of the Services. Capitalized terms used in these Service Terms but not defined below are defined in the AWS Customer Agreement<\/a> or other agreement with us governing your use of the Services (the \u201cAgreement\u201d). For purposes of these Service Terms, \u201cYour Content\u201d includes any \u201cCompany Content\u201d and any \u201cCustomer Content,\u201d and \u201cAWS Content\u201d includes \u201cAmazon Properties.\u201d…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

42.10.<\/strong> Acceptable Use; Safety-Critical Systems. Your use of the Lumberyard Materials must comply with the AWS Acceptable Use Policy.<\/p>\n

The Lumberyard Materials are not intended for use with life-critical or safety-critical systems, such as use in operation of medical equipment, automated transportation systems, autonomous vehicles, aircraft or air traffic control, nuclear facilities, manned spacecraft, or military use in connection with live combat.<\/p>\n

However, this restriction will not apply in the event of the occurrence (certified by the United States Centers for Disease Control or successor body) of a widespread viral infection transmitted via bites or contact with bodily fluids that causes human corpses to reanimate and seek to consume living human flesh, blood, brain or nerve tissue and is likely to result in the fall of organized civilization.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

42.11. <\/strong>Termination. Your rights in the Lumberyard Materials automatically terminate if the Agreement terminates or you breach the Agreement (including these Service Terms). However, if we terminate the Agreement for convenience, your rights in Lumberyard Materials then in your possession survive termination with respect to any previously registered Lumberyard Project. Otherwise, upon termination, you must cease all use, distribution, and other exploitation of the Lumberyard Materials (and any modifications and derivatives).<\/p>\n

Rear Admiral Ali S. Khan, MD, MPH,<\/strong> is an Assistant Surgeon General and began leading the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\u2019s (CDC) Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR) in August 2010. Most recently, he was the Deputy Director of the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) at CDC. Dr. Khan joined CDC and the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps in 1991 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer. Over the past decade, he has responded to and led numerous high profile domestic and international public health emergencies including\u00a0hantavirus pulmonary syndrome<\/a>, Ebola hemorrhagic fever<\/a>, monkeypox<\/a>, avian influenza,<\/a> Rift Valley fever<\/a>, severe acute respiratory syndrome [SARS]<\/a>, the Asian Tsunami<\/a>, and the initial public health response to Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.<\/p>\n

Dr. Khan\u2019s professional career has focused on bioterrorism, global health, and emerging infectious diseases. He served as one of the main architects of CDC\u2019s public health bioterrorism preparedness program which upgraded local, state, and national public health systems to detect and rapidly respond to bioterrorism. He designed CDC\u2019s joint global field epidemiology and laboratory training program. Dr. Khan was an integral part of the design and implementation of the President\u2019s Malaria Initiative and has been engaged in guinea worm and polio eradication. He also proposed BioPHusion as a new public health initiative to improve knowledge exchange for all public health practitioners.<\/p>\n

Dr. Khan received his M.D. from Downstate Medical Center in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY, and completed a joint residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor before joining CDC. He has a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from Emory University where he is an adjunct professor. He has over 150 peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, editorials, and brief communiques. He has consulted intensively for multiple U.S. organizations including NASA, Ministries of Health, and the World Health Organization.<\/p>\n
