I would like to discuss very disturbing statistics from the UK, that clearly shows that Covid is becoming a chronic disease, in the same sense as AIDS is a chronic disease.<\/strong> Covid, for many Brits, is an illness that will just not go away<\/strong>. Endless bouts, recurrence, or even never-ending disease, is now the norm and not the exception, and will lead to a catastrophe.<\/p>\n

Covid, now a \u201cchronic disease<\/strong>\u201d that makes people ill continuously or very frequently, is completely opposite to \u201cendemic disease<\/strong>\u201d, like colds, that would make people ill for just a few days a year.<\/p>\n

Before I go further, let me point out again that I am NOT trying to badmouth the splendid United Kingdom<\/strong>. It is a wonderful country with rich culture, incredible people, and OUTSTANDING STATISTICAL AGENCIES<\/strong>. It is the latter that let me show the disaster unfolding there. People of the UK are diverse, and are not biologically very different from people in other countries. What I write about the UK, applies to any other highly vaccinated Western country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

UK Is Measuring \u201cIncidence\u201d of Covid<\/h1>\n

A very special effort of the UK is measuring so called \u201cincidence\u201d of Covid, that answers a question: \u201chow many people are having Covid right now?<\/strong>\u201d. ONS publishes a Coronavirus Infection Survey<\/a> that is very revealing.<\/p>\n

The latest survey, as of March 19, shows that one out of every 16 Brits<\/strong>, or one out of every 11 Scots<\/strong>, is having an active Covid infection today<\/strong>. Stop for a minute, please, and think about it.<\/p>\n

This graph of \u201cincidence\u201d, or \u201ccurrent prevalence\u201d, of Covid, which is as high as it was during the January peak, completely diverged from \u201ccases\u201d, which are just about one-third of the peak:<\/p>\n

How can it be?<\/p>\n

The UK defines a \u201cCovid case\u201d, to be a positive Covid test result in an individual, where no other positive test was recorded in the 90 days prior.<\/strong> This explains the almost three-times divergence between \u201ccases\u201d and \u201cincidence\u201d, where cases are down 2\/3rds (as of Mar 19), and incidence is at the highest point just as it was when Omicron peaked in January.<\/p>\n

This divergence is because about TWO THIRDS of currently ill Brits, are having a short term reinfection, or a continued chronic infection, that is not counted as a \u201ccase\u201d.<\/strong> These estimates are far from precise, but likely close to being correct.<\/p>\n

I do anticipate that many people will object to case-counting being unreliable, which it is. To those people, I recommend reading my other article: \u201cUK \u2014 short term reinfections exploding<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n

One out of 16 Sick Means that\u2026<\/h1>\n

If, at any time in a year, one out of 16 persons is having Covid, it means that the average person would be sick 365\/16 = 23 days per year. If a typical Covid illness lasts a week for its test-positive part, it means three Covids a year<\/strong>. For Scotland with 1 out of 11 ill and testing positive now, it amounts to 33 days a year, or over FOUR week-long-Covids for the average Scot per year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, it could be worse than this. It is not a certainty yet, but it could be that some people cannot clear the virus at all and keep testing positive for extended periods. There is plenty of such examples. Here\u2019s a person who keeps testing positive on Day 15 \u201cdespite\u201d triple vaccination and use of \u201cPaxlovid\u201d.<\/p>\n

It may be that several short-term Covid reinfections will kill off immune T cells completely, so that they do not have time to replenish between infections, and thus the person would be left with no immune defenses whatsoever, just like people who are having AIDS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They would become susceptible not just to chronic Covid, but to chronic opportunistic illnesses common to AIDS patients, and cancer<\/strong>. In addition to immune problems, constant load of Covid\u2019s spike protein will be very deleterious to our immune systems, and so on. Think of having AIDS with extra cardiovascular destruction, blood clots, \u201cbrain fog\u201d etc \u2014 all this for an illness that cannot be stopped.<\/p>\n

While one-time Covid is a bad thing, the all-the-time \u201cChronic Covid<\/strong>\u201d is a completely different and a terrible thing. We are now in the several-times-a-year territory where many people had two or three Covids this winter. It is totally possible that short term reinfections will cause a full blown Immune Deficit Syndrome due to T cell destruction.<\/p>\n

Persons who have such chronic Covid, will need to live among us, they need to go shopping, work while they still can, and mix with other people. Unlike those infected with HIV, which is bloodborne, the \u201cchronic Covid\u201d sufferers will be<\/strong> constantly infectious with an AIRBORNE illness<\/strong>. How will this affect our society? We can only guess.<\/p>\n

In addition to killing T cells, reinfections are often worse than original infections<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Vaccines, VAIDS and Reinfections<\/h1>\n

Despite being opposed to Covid vaccines, let me make one thing clear: both vaccinated and unvaccinated people have Covid reinfections<\/strong>. What is NOT fully clear is who has more of them,<\/strong> per 100,000 of relevant population. However, all signs point to the vaccinated bearing the brunt of repeat Covid infections and the immune deficits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We urgently need our governments to investigate repeat reinfections and find out whether the vaccinated are more likely to get repeat or chronic Covid. Not quite surprisingly, no government in the world answered this question or is even looking<\/strong>. I suspect that I know why.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite not having high quality official statistics, we can glean some information from UKHSA vaccine reports.<\/p>\n

All of this is suggesting, but not fully conclusively, that it is the vaccinated people who bear the brunt of repeat reinfections<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Both Reddit and Twitter are chock full of \u201cI had Covid three times\u201d reports, which you can read below.<\/p>\n

An additional issue is that as Covid \u201caffects the brain<\/a>\u201d, we as a society may lose the intellectual capacity that we need to deal with this smartly, in a year or so, if our vaccinated best minds succumb to brain damage from repeat infections<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

@ichudov<\/span> I live in the uk- have a massive family – 75 pct vaxxed. Only people I know getting reinfected are vaccinated . Also a lot of first time cases in double\/triple vaxxed recently.
