Λυκ Μοντανιέ: «Σταματήστε τώρα τους εμβολιασμούς – Τα εμβόλια προκαλούν νόσο Creutzfeldt Jakob»
Ο καθηγητής Ioλόγος, Νομπελίστας Luc Montagnier και ο Marc Doyer προσκλήθηκαν να μιλήσουν στο Radio Courtoisie. Ο Luc Montagnier είναι βιολόγος, ιολόγος και βραβευμένος με Νόμπελ ιατρικής το 2008 και ο Marc Doyer είναι μέλος της ένωσης Verity France και ιδρυτής της ομάδας υποστήριξης Mauricette. Η σύζυγός του πάσχει από τη νόσο Creutzfeldt-Jakob μετά τον εμβολιασμό.
Ο Νομπελίστας Luc Montagnier, κατήγγειλε στο Radio Courtoisie: «πρέπει οι γιατροί να καταλάβουν το κίνδυνο ότι υπάρχει προς χρήση αυτή η βραδυφλεγής βόμβα. Πρέπει να σταματήσουμε να εμβολιάζουμε»
Ο Νομπελίστας αποκαλύπτει: «Απλά πρέπει να πληροφορηθείτε για τις παρενέργειες. Ωστόσο τα ΜΜΕ εξακολουθούν και οι κυβερνητικές αρχές διαγράφουν τα στοιχεία, αποδείξεις. Εάν συνεχίσουμε να εμβολιάζουμε με πλήρη δύναμη, θα υπάρχουν περισσότεροι ασθενείς». Επίσης τόνισε ότι με τις νέες πληροφορίες που διοχετεύουν ενσπείρουν τον φόβο και έτσι υποβαλλόμενοι στο φόβο οι πολίτες είναι έτοιμοι να δεχθούν οτιδήποτε.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκπομπής, ο καθηγητής Montagnier ως βιολόγος και ιολόγος, λέει ότι αντιμετωπίζουμε μια βραδυφλεγή βόμβα: ο κίνδυνος είναι ότι τα «εμβόλια» του Covid μπορούν να προκαλέσουν τη νόσο Creutzfeldt-Jakob γρήγορα ή μακροπρόθεσμα. «Είναι μια πολύ σπάνια ασθένεια κανονικά, αλλά εδώ έχουμε ήδη οκτώ περιπτώσεις που αναφέρθηκαν από νευρολόγους. Όσο περισσότερο κάνετε την ένεση, τόσο περισσότερο αυξάνεται ο κίνδυνος, ο κίνδυνος υπάρχει. […] Και μπορεί κανείς να πεθάνει από μυοκαρδίτιδα πριν πεθάνει από ασθένειες πριόν.»

Θάνατοι και παρενέργειες από τα 4 θανατηφόρα σκευάσματα σύμφωνα με τα δεδομένα της EudraVigilance επάνω τον Οκτώβρη και κάτω τον Δεκέμβρη προς σύγκριση

The European (EEA and non-EEA countries) database of suspected drug reaction reports is EudraVigilance, verified by European Medicines Agency (EMA), and they are now reporting 32,649 fatalities, and 3,003,296 injuries, following COVID-19 injections.
A Health Impact News subscriber from Europe reminded us that this database maintained at EudraVigilance is only for countries in Europe who are part of the European Union (EU), which comprises 27 countries.
The total number of countries in Europe is much higher, almost twice as many, numbering around 50. (There are some differences of opinion as to which countries are technically part of Europe.)
So as high as these numbers are, they do NOT reflect all of Europe. The actual number in Europe who are reported dead or injured following COVID-19 shots would be much higher than what we are reporting here.
The EudraVigilance database (EEA and non-EEA countries) reports that through December 4, 2021 there are 32,649 deaths and 3,003,296 injuries reported following injections of four experimental COVID-19 shots:
From the total of injuries recorded, almost half of them (1,409,643) are serious injuries.
“Seriousness provides information on the suspected undesirable effect; it can be classified as ‘serious’ if it corresponds to a medical occurrence that results in death, is life-threatening, requires inpatient hospitalisation, results in another medically important condition, or prolongation of existing hospitalisation, results in persistent or significant disability or incapacity, or is a congenital anomaly/birth defect.”
A Health Impact News subscriber in Europe ran the reports for each of the four COVID-19 shots we are including here. It is a lot of work to tabulate each reaction with injuries and fatalities, since there is no place on the EudraVigilance system we have found that tabulates all the results.
Since we have started publishing this, others from Europe have also calculated the numbers and confirmed the totals.*

Δ.Κούβελας: «Άθλια φίμωση στον ΑΝΤ1 – Περιφρόνηση και συκοφαντία στο πρόσωπό μου με ύβρεις»

Καθ. Δημήτρης Κούβελας και πολύ λίγα λέει από όσα θα ήθελε με θυμό κι οργή να πει.
Επίθεση στον ΑΝΤ1 και στην εκπομπή «Πρωινοί Τύποι», έκανε ο καθηγητής Κλινικής Φαρμακολογίας του ΑΠΘ, Δημήτρης Κούβελας, ο οποίος καταγγέλλει προσπάθεια «φίμωσης», ενώ αναφέρεται και στους χαρακτηρισμούς που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για να τον περιγράψουν.
Όσα αναφέρει ο Δ.Κούβελας
«Άθλια η φίμωση μόλις στον ΑΝΤ1 στην εκπομπή «πρωινοί τύποι»! Σε αυτά τα τυπάκια, υπήρξαν:
1. Απόλυτη απαξία της επιστημονικής προσέγγισης
2. Απόλυτη περιφρόνηση των θεσμών ασφάλειας, όπως της φαρμακοεπαγρύπνησης
3. Απόλυτη περιφρόνηση του επιστημονικού διαλόγου
4. Απόλυτη περιφρόνηση της νοημοσύνης των θεατών.
5. Απόλυτη άγνοια των μη φαρμακευτικών μέτρων αντιμετώπισης των λοιμωδών νοσημάτων
6. Υβριστική συμπεριφορά, περιφρόνηση και συκοφαντία στο πρόσωπό μου, με ύβρεις, όπως «αντιεμβολιαστής», «καθένας», ακόμη, και το ένα από τα πτυχία μου, της φαρμακευτικής, χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως ύβρις, ενώ απέκρυψαν το ότι είμαι και γιατρός με ειδικότητα και εξειδίκευση! Επίσης όλοι λησμόνησαν ότι είμαι καθηγητής και ειδικός!
7. «Λειτουργική κώφωση» στην όποια «ανεξέλεγκτη» τοποθέτηση
8. Ανάδειξη της λογικής των διορισμένων κυβερνητικών, του αποφασίζω και διατάζω.
Τι λέει η Άννα Μαστοράκου στο thebest μετά την “επίθεση” από αντιεμβολιαστές- «Με αποκάλεσαν δολοφόνο»
Το πρωί του Σάββατου
Για την φραστική επίθεση που δέχθηκε από αντιεμβολιαστές το πρωί του Σαββάτου μίλησε στο thebest.gr η Αντιπρόεδρος του πανελλήνιου Ιατρικού Συλλόγου και πρόεδρος του ιατρικού Συλλόγου Πάτρας, Άννα Μαστοράκου,
Η επίθεση στην κ. Μαστοράκου έγινε σήμερα το πρωί κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης για τον εμβολιασμό σε ξενοδοχείο της Πάτρας στην Όθωνος-Αμαλίας. Όλα συνέβησαν όταν ξαφνικά μπήκε στην αίθουσα ένα άτομο το οποίο κάλεσε την κ. Μαστοράκου να κατέβει στο ισόγειο προκειμένου να παραλάβει κάποιο έγγραφο.
Όπως περιγράφει, «ήταν μία επίθεση, περισσότερο φραστική. Ουσιαστικά περίμεναν κατά τη διάρκεια της ημερίδας που είχαμε σήμερα, να κατέβω κάτω. Υπέβαλαν έναν τέτοιο αίτημα προκειμένου να αντιπαρατεθούν μαζί μου. Δεν κατέβηκα, το έκανα στο τέλος της ημερίδας. Ζητούσαν αποκλειστικά εμένα και μου είπαν ότι θέλουν να μου παραδώσουν ένα έγγραφο. Είπα πως δεν επιθυμώ να παραλάβω τίποτα και φεύγοντας με αποκάλεσαν δολοφόνο. Είπαν ότι δηλητηριάζω τα παιδιά τους και γενικά ήταν μία έντονη κατάσταση. Έφυγα και μάλιστα κάποιοι από αυτούς με ακολούθησαν στο πάρκινγκ».
Όπως τόνισε, «Είναι η Τρίτη φορά που δέχομαι τέτοια επίθεση και είναι πολύ βαρύ να αποκαλείς τον εκπρόσωπο των γιατρών δολοφόνο. Καταλαβαίνετε τι μήνυμα παίρνει η κοινωνία από όλο αυτό. Θα καταφύγω τη Δευτέρα στον Εισαγγελέα για να γνωστοποιήσω το συμβάν. Δεν θα προβώ σε μηνυτήρια αναφορά ενώ θα τοποθετηθεί και ο ιατρικός σύλλογος».

Σ.γ.:Απάντηση από αυτόπτη μάρτυρα: Η κα Μαστοράκου δεν κατέβηκε και δεν παρέλαβε κανένα έγγραφο, απλώς όταν τελείωσε η συζήτηση με θέμα: ΕΜΒΟλΙΑΣΜΟΣ ΤΩΡΑ! την πήραν από πίσω οι αντιδρώντες στην υποχρεωτικότητα του εμβολιασμού επί απάντων και πασών δια της βίας και των προστίμων και των αναστολών εργασίας των ιατρών, νοσηλευτών κ.λπ. και αρκετοί φώναζαν “δολοφονείται κόσμος με τα εμβόλια” δεν δέχεστε ανοικτή συζήτηση αλλά μόνο με όσους έχουν πιστοποιητικό νόσησης και εμβολιασμού.” “Δεν ενημερώνετε για τις παρενέργειες και τους θανάτους”. Επίσης είπαν “δεν δεχόμαστε τη ρετσινιά των αντιεμβολιαστών. Είμαστε ενάντια στα ατεκμηρίωτα, με προσωρινή άδεια χορηγούμενα εμβόλια σε ανενημέρωτο πληθυσμό που δεν γνωρίζει τις παρενέργειες που αυτά έχουν, μετατρέποντας τους πολίτες σε πειραματόζωα”. Τελικά η κα Μαστοράκου δεν επήρε το υποεγεγραμμένο από τους παρευρισκομένους και διαμαρτυρομένους έγγραφο το οποίο προσπάθησε να της επιδώσει ο Καθηγητής της Φιλοσοφίας ειδικευμένος στη θεωρία της πολυπλοκότητας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Θράκης κος Γεώργιος Παύλος. Όσον αφορά ότι την τράβηξαν από το χέρι, η αλήθεια είναι ότι ένας εκ των διαμαρτυρομένων προσπαθούσε να της επιδώσει το έγγραφο αγγίζοντας το δεξί τη χέρι ώστε να βραδύνει το βήμα της και να το πάρει και δεν την εμπόδισαν να φεύγει με γοργό βήμα μέχρι το πάρκινγκ όπου παρέλαβε το αυτοκίνητό της, ενώ αυτοί ίσταντο σε απόσταση 20 μέτρων από την πρόεδρο, φυσικά διαμαρτυρόμενοι και φωνάζοντας διάφορα συνθήματα περί ναζισμού και φασιστικής νοοτροπίας όλων των ιατρικών Συλλόγων.
Αντιεμβολιαστές προπηλάκισαν την πρόεδρο του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Πάτρας Άννα Μαστοράκου.
Η «επίθεση» στην Αννα Μαστοράκου έγινε σήμερα το πρωί κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης για τον εμβολιασμό σε ξενοδοχείο της Πάτρας. Άτομο κάλεσε την κ. Μαστοράκου να κατέβει στο ισόγειο προκειμένου να παραλάβει έγγραφο. Η πρόεδρος κατέβηκε και της έδωσαν ένα έγγραφο, το οποίο, ανέφεραν πώς είναι η τεκμηρίωση πως τα εμβόλια είναι δηλητήριο.
Η Αννα Μαστοράκου δεν το παρέλαβε και την αποκάλεσαν δολοφόνο, ενώ την ακολούθησαν και εκεί όπου είχε σταθμεύσει το αυτοκίνητό της, την τράβηξαν από το χέρι και συνέχισαν λεκτικά την επίθεση.
Η ίδια θα καταθέσει την Δευτέρα μηνυτήρια αναφορά.

Η Περιφέρεια Δυτικής Ελλάδας σε συνεργασία με την 6η ΥΠΕ και τον Ιατρικό Σύλλογο Πατρών, πραγματοποιεί μεγάλη υβριδική ενημερωτική εκδήλωση για όλους τους ενδιαφερόμενους με θέμα:
Εμβολιασμός Τώρα! Ανοιχτή συζήτηση για την αναγκαιότητα του εμβολιασμού έναντι Covid 19
Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο 18 Δεκεμβρίου 2021 και ώρα 10:00 π.μ. στο ξενοδοχείο MY WAY Hotel (Όθωνος Αμαλίας 15- Πάτρα).

Η εν λόγω εκδήλωση πραγματοποιείται στα πλαίσια της κοινής δράσης στην αντιμετώπιση της πανδημίας. Ο εμβολιασμός έναντι του νέου κορωνοϊού είναι μονόδρομος για να ξεπεραστεί η πανδημία και η κοινή δράση όλων των φορέων προς αυτή την κατεύθυνση είναι επιτακτική ανάγκη.
Η συμμετοχή στην δια ζώσης εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί τηρώντας όλα τα υγειονομικά πρωτόκολλα.
Η συζήτηση έλαβε χώρα σήμερα 18/12/2021 ώρα 10 με ελάχιστους ιατρούς να συμμετέχουν, περίπου όσοι ήσαν και οι έξωθεν του ξενοδοχείου MY WAY οι οποίοι διαμαρτύρονταν για τον υποχρεωτικό εμβολιασμό στους ενήλικες και στα παιδιά.
Καλλίτερη απάντηση και πιο ζωντανή από τη συνέντευξη του Χειρουργού Σκιαδόπουλου στον Μάκη Τριανταφυλλόπουλου, ζωντανό παράδειγμα των παρενεργειών των εμβολίων, δεν υπάρχει από το πιο κάτω Βίντεο:
Για πρώτη φορά η Εισαγγελία Αθηνών και γενικότερα η Δικαιοσύνη η οποία έχει δεχθεί πολλά πυρά ότι κάνει «τα στραβά μάτια» σε εξώφθαλμες περιπτώσεις παραβίασης της ισχύουσας νομοθεσίας και των δικαιωμάτων των πολιτών από την κυβέρνηση, στην περίπτωση της πανδημίας «βάζει στο μικροσκόπιο» την μελέτη των καθηγητών κ. κ. Τσιόδρα και Λύτρα.
Oι καταγγελίες του βουλευτή Παναγιώτη Κουρουμπλή για «δολοφονίες» στις ΜΕΘ (μια καταγγελία που προκάλεσε την διαγραφή του από τον ΣΥΡΙΖΑ) οδήγησε στην διαταγή προκαταρκτικής εξέτασης από την Εισαγγελία Πρωτοδικών Αθηνών, με στόχο τη διερεύνηση του συνόλου των καταγγελιών για τις συνθήκες στις ΜΕΘ που έχουν δει κατά καιρούς το φως της δημοσιότητας είτε μέσω του Τύπου, είτε μέσω συγκεκριμένης αναφοράς, όπως συνέβη πρόσφατα με τον πρόεδρο της ΠΟΕΔΗΝ Μιχάλη Γιαννάκο.

A highly-anticipated trial began today for star nanotechnology researcher Charles Lieber, who stands accused by the US government of actions including lying about his involvement in a Chinese government talent-recruitment programme, and failing to disclose income from China on his tax returns. This is the second trial for an academic accused of hiding ties to China since the Department of Justice (DOJ) launched a controversial initiative in 2018 to prevent that country from using US resources for political gain — and legal experts say its verdict might influence the prosecution of future cases.
Lieber, who is on leave as chair of Harvard University’s chemistry and chemical biology department, has pleaded not guilty to all charges. A high-profile researcher known for developing nanomaterials for medicine and biology, he won the 2012 Wolf Prize in Chemistry and was listed as a potential Nobel Prize winner by Thomson Reuters in 2008.

His arrest in January 2020 shocked scientists. “The outcome [of the trial] is important and will be closely watched to see if the government is able to persuade a jury to return convictions for this type of case,” says Peter Zeidenberg, a former federal prosecutor and a partner at the law firm Arent Fox in Washington DC. The first trial of a researcher following the launch of the DOJ’s China Initiative resulted in an acquittal.
A lawyer for Lieber told Nature: “we will do our talking in the courtroom”. But in a court filing, his legal team wrote that “the government will be unable to prove, as to each and every count, that [Lieber] acted knowingly, intentionally, or willfully, or that he made any material false statement”.
The District of Massachusetts US attorney’s office tells Nature it expects Lieber’s trial to continue for about a week. Here’s what to watch for.
What’s the case against Lieber?
A key focus in Lieber’s trial will be on false statements he allegedly made to federal agencies. Prosecutors allege that Lieber lied to or misled the US Department of Defense (DOD) and the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), from which he had received at least US$15 million in grants since 2008. According to the government, he made false statements about participating in a prominent Chinese talent-recruitment programme known as the Thousand Talents Plan, which offered him a monthly salary of up to $50,000, about $158,000 per year in personal and living expenses, and more than $1.5 million in funding for a joint laboratory between Harvard University and the Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). Participating in a foreign talent-recruitment programme is not illegal, but knowingly and willfully making signficant false statements to US government agencies is a crime.
University under pressure to rehire scientist acquitted of hiding China links
According to a court filing by prosecutors, Lieber allegedly told investigators from the DOD’s Defense Criminal Investigative Service in 2018 he didn’t know how he was characterized by China, but denied ever being explicitly asked to participate in the Thousand Talents programme. The investigators were acting on information from the FBI when they questioned Lieber, the filing said. It also said that the nanotechnology researcher told Harvard administrators that he was not, and had never been, a participant in the programme during a grant-compliance review for the NIH, which in 2018 began scrutinizing potential ties that Harvard and Lieber had to the WUT and Thousand Talents.
But an affidavit by FBI special agent Robert Plumb states that the WUT asked Lieber in 2012 to participate in the programme, that he agreed to a three-year contract and that he was paid over several years in accordance with it.
Legal experts emphasized to Nature that the burden will be on prosecutors to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that, among other things, Lieber knowingly and willfully made false statements. “It appears that the government has e-mails that will be helpful in doing that, but we’ll only see at trial how strong the evidence is,” says Margaret Lewis, a criminal-law specialist at Seton Hall University who studies the China Initiative. “The government does have a burden to do more than just prove that forms were filled out incorrectly. They also have this element of, what was the context, what was happening in professor Lieber’s mind?”
What might happen at trial?
When it comes to the false-statement charges, some expect Lieber’s legal team to argue that he misunderstood what he was being asked during those investigations in 2018. “I would expect that the defense to the charges would be — I’m just guessing — he misunderstood the question, felt that he was giving a truthful answer, forgot, [or] got confused,” says Seth DuCharme, a partner at law firm Bracewell in New York City who is a former senior DOJ official.
Whether Lieber actually received all the benefits promised by the alleged Thousand Talents contract could also affect his sentencing. According to Plumb’s affidavit, the contract Lieber allegedly agreed to allowed a salary of up to $50,000 a month calculated on the basis of the amount of time he spent working at the WUT. Peter Toren, an intellectual-property lawyer in Washington DC, says if Lieber is convicted, the amount of money he ultimately received would probably significantly affect his sentence — the larger the amount, the harsher the sentence.
Why does the outcome of this case matter?
The outcome matters to Lieber personally of course, but it could also have a ripple effect. Many in the research community have been concerned that the US government’s efforts to crack down on foreign interference are harming scientific collaborations and leading to an exodus of researchers of Chinese heritage from the United States. They also worry that there is racial profiling — an accusation that the US government has repeatedly denied. A number of scientists have been calling for an end to the China Initiative, including about 40 of Lieber’s colleagues, who wrote a letter in March asking the government to drop the charges against him.
Scientists in China say US government crackdown is harming collaborations
The Chinese government has also criticized the initiative as politically motivated.
Derek Adams, a partner at Potomac Law Group and former DOJ trial attorney, says that if a researcher as high profile as Lieber is not acquitted, other researchers accused of hiding ties to China might be less willing to fight charges and more willing to take plea deals. “The defendants will see probably that there’s more risk involved,” he says.
On the flip side, if the case is decided in Lieber’s favour, Adams thinks a second loss in court since the launch of the China Initiative could lead the DOJ to rethink its prosecution strategy, decrease the resources and effort it’s spending on these cases, or give defendants more leverage in plea-deal negotiations. The US Congress might also apply pressure to end the China Initiative. On 29 July, representative Ted Lieu and about 90 other members of Congress sent a letter to US Attorney General Merrick Garland requesting a DOJ investigation into historic targeting of individuals of Asian descent for alleged espionage, and information on whether people are being targeted on the basis of race, ethnicity or national origin under the China Initiative. Lieber is one of the exceptions, but an analysis by MIT Technology Review of charges believed to be associated with the China Initiative found that more than 90% of defendants have been of Chinese heritage.
Some even think that if the US government loses its case against Lieber, the outcome could help convince more researchers to stay in the country. “If it leads to another acquittal, it will certainly give a lot of hope to people who are now sitting on the fence and are undecided [about] whether they should leave the United States or not,” says Alice Huang, a biologist at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena and board member of the 80-20 Educational Foundation, an advocacy group for Asian American equality. “It would encourage more of the scientists to stay and fight.”
Doctor Vladimir Zelenco Who Promoted Malarial Drug (Plaquenil) Draws Scrutiny of Federal Prosectors

WASHINGTON — A federal prosecutor has opened a preliminary inquiry into whether an obscure New York doctor who won White House attention by claiming he could treat the coronavirus broke the law by falsely claiming that a hospital study of drugs he had promoted had won federal approval.
The doctor, Vladimir Zelenko, wrongly claimed that the Food and Drug Administration had backed a study of a drug cocktail that he asserts is effective in treating Covid-19, the disease caused by the virus. Through a misdirected email, that claim came to the attention of Aaron Zelinsky, a federal prosecutor in Baltimore working on fraud cases arising out of the pandemic.
Dr. Zelenko, known as Zev, had claimed the study had the F.D.A.’s approval to Jerome Corsi, a conservative commentator who figured in the special counsel’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. Mr. Corsi then repeated that claim in an email he mistakenly directed to Mr. Zelinsky instead of to the physician, he said in a podcast this week.
Mr. Zelinsky, a former member of the special counsel’s team that investigated Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, had dealt with Mr. Corsi while working on a criminal case that led to the conviction of Roger J. Stone Jr., President Trump’s longtime friend.
Mr. Corsi said that Mr. Zelinsky promptly checked and discovered that the study was not F.D.A.-approved, then requested all Mr. Corsi’s communications with the doctor. Mr. Corsi’s lawyer, David Gray, said Mr. Corsi voluntarily turned over the information. The inquiry was first reported by The Washington Post.
In an interview on Friday, Dr. Zelenko said that he was guilty of nothing more than sloppy wording.
“I’m a clinician, not a researcher,” he said. “I don’t understand fully the language of clinical research.”
He said the misunderstanding stemmed from a lecture he gave last month to a group of physicians over the videoconferencing app Zoom, which Mr. Corsi attended. During the lecture, Dr. Zelenko claimed that the clinical trial he was helping organize, sponsored by St. Francis Hospital in New York, had been approved by the F.D.A. In fact, only the hospital’s internal review board had approved it.
Dr. Zelenko said he had the impression that his study had the government’s seal of approval because he had spoken with Stephen M. Hahn, the F.D.A.’s commissioner, who discussed his treatment with him and helped him locate medicine for the trial, he said.
“In my mind, that led me to think it was F.D.A.-approved,” Dr. Zelenko said. “In reality, it was a mistake.”
Dr. Zelenko said that he had not been contacted by the Justice Department, and that he learned of the inquiry from Mr. Corsi’s public statements.
Mr. Corsi said he believed that the doctor never intended to deceive anyone. “He can’t speak precisely about something he doesn’t understand,” he said.
A self-described “simple country doctor,” Dr. Zelenko proposed a three-drug cocktail of an antimalarial medication called hydroxychloroquine, the antibiotic azithromycin and zinc as a treatment for Covid-19 after seeing numerous patients with symptoms of the disease. He is not the first, nor the only, doctor to propose antimalarial drugs as a treatment.
But his claims that he could cure the disease by treating it aggressively in the early stages, which he played up in a YouTube video that he addressed to Mr. Trump, caught the attention of the president’s inner circle. After the video went viral, Mark Meadows, the White House chief of staff, contacted him. Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer, also publicly praised the doctor. The video has now been taken down.
Since then, more evidence has emerged that hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin may not be effective at treating the coronavirus, and may in fact be harmful because of the risk of severe side effects. The F.D.A. warned in April that hydroxychloroquine, either on its own or in combination with azithromycin, should not be administered to treat Covid-19 outside the hospital setting or in a clinical trial, saying it could cause heart rhythm problems.
But Dr. Zelenko has remained firm in his conviction, sending regular updates about new studies and patient testimonials to a contact list that includes reporters and government officials in several countries. “I am more emboldened,” he said in a voice memo on April 22.
Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin are now being used in several clinical trials to determine their efficacy against the virus, including a trial conducted by the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and another by the pharmaceutical company Novartis, which is studying the effect of hydroxychloroquine alone.
